Yui Ikari is a minor character from anime Neon Genesis Evangelion. She was the wife of Gendo Ikari and mother of Shinji Ikari, and responsible for creating Evangelions. During the testing of first Evangelion, she met her end in a tragic accident. Since then Gendo's major motivation has been to bring her back. Her DNA has been used to create Rei Ayanami, and Gendo joined Human Instrumentality Committee to bring Instrumentaly into fruition. She likely also serves as motivation for Gendo in the events for Worst Hero And Villain War Ever.
