Princess Diana of Themyscira (commonly known as Wonder Woman in her superhero identity, and Diana Prince in her civilian identity) is a superheroine, princess of the Amazons, and major heroine in the DC Comics, first appearing in All-Star Comics #8; she also appears as the overall tritagonist of the DC Animated Universe, the tritagonist of Justice League and Justice League Unlimited, and a major protagonist in the DC Extended Universe films, including her own starring role in the 2017 Wonder Woman film. She started life as a clay sculpture. Her mother, Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons, breathed life into her so that she might have a child of her own. She later realized that she was not sculpted by her mother alone, but with her mother's lover Hades as well. She was given a chance to verify this information, but turned it down because she had no doubt in her mind that she was born and raised by Hippolyta. An enemy of Ares, the God of War, Diana opposed the mad god's schemes to pit humanity against each other, joining forces with other superheroes to see it through; while doing so, she was introduced to the Justice League, a super-team of heroes devoted to fight the nefarious forces that threaten the world. She appears in Disney vs. Comics as one of the main heroines who battle the forces of evil.
