The Gorgon is a minor villain in the disney film, "Hercules". A dangerous monster, sent by Hades to kill Hercules, along with the Minotaur and the Griffin. The Gorgon makes a cameo appearance in Disney Villains War - Part 2.
Disney Villains War 2
The Gorgon appears as one of the children of Echidna. When Hades requests the mother of the beasts to take down Frollo's empire, Echidna moves on with her remain children to finish the job. She accompanies the Griffin and the Minotaur to kill McLeach and his recently captured trophy, Tublat. However, they got beaten by the gorilla's skills, leaving Echidna to deal with the forces of Frollo personally.
Trivia
- Although she is a Gorgon, it is unknown if she is Medusa, one of the Gorgon Sisters, due to the reason that Medusa appears in the disney television show of "Hercules", and the show takes place, before Hercules was about to become a hero and challenge the monsters of Hades.
- It is possible, that she is Euryale, one of the Gorgon sisters too, since her appearance in the film is similiar to the original mythology's description, as Euryale has brass claws, sharp teeth and living venomous snakes on her head. Also Euryale appears as much older than her sister, Medusa, and the appearance of the Gorgon is depicted in the film of Hercules, as she looks more older than the television show's character of Medusa.
- In the Disney Action Video Game of Hercules, the stage where Hercules fights off the Gorgon is mispelled "Medusa's Lair". Whether it was really the lair of Medusa, before it was taken by the Gorgon, or it was a development error in the video game it is unknown.
