Peter Parker, alias Spider-Man, is a superhero who first appeared in Marvel's Amazing Fantasy #15, and has appeared in many Marvel TV series and films, including the Sam Raimi-directed trilogy from 2002 to 2007, the two Amazing Spider-Man movies directed by Marc Webb, and the films set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A brilliant science major at Midtown High School, Peter struggled socially but had a happy home life with his aunt and uncle, who had raised him after his parents' deaths. While attending a science exhibition, Peter was bitten by a genetically-altered spider, which granted him superhuman powers reminiscent of a spider. Initially using his powers to seek fame as a costumed wrestler, Peter arrogantly refused to stop a robber who had stolen money from his agent. That night, the same man tried to steal his uncle's car, shooting and killing him. Recognizing the man, Peter swore never to use his powers for personal gain again, realizing that "with great power comes great responsibility.'
Spider-Man has appeared in Disney vs. Marvel Villains in various roles, and is set to appear in Disney vs. Comics, fighting alongside the hero forces against the villains who threaten New York City and the world.
