Still, Helga manages to grab onto the ledge and pulls herself back up, stunning Sloth with a kick to the chest. In the distraction, Percival C. McLeach fires an explosive at the Homunculus, seemingly destroying him. This doesn't effectively kill Sloth, who emerges unharmed from the smoke and knocks McLeach aside. While Sloth's attention is diverted, Ratcliffe shoots him with his rifle, stunning the Homunculus long enough for Gaston to attack. In spite of his efforts, Sloth is no match against the hunter's great strength, brutally beating Sloth into submission, wearing him down and causing him to crumble into dust.

Sloth charges directly at Hun, but Tohru arrives and knocks Sloth aside. Hun and Tohru then take turns bashing Sloth, with the two eventually punching him right into the ceiling. Sloth falls and is impaled upon a massive thorn in the ground. He tries to pull himself free, only to crumble into dust.
