Sheriff of Nottingham (Prince of Thieves)

The Sheriff of Nottingham, as seen in the film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, is a cold-hearted, treacherous villain portrayed by Alan Rickman. He is a major player in the live-action storyline of the second Disney Vs Non Disney Villains War.

His First Alliance

The Sheriff initially casts his lot with Lord Cutler Beckett and Cardinal Richelieu, thinking he can hold a dominant stake in this war with these allies. At the same time, the Sheriff begins taking favors from Evil Genius, who convinces him to join his alliance. Compounding this interest is the Sheriff's aide, Mortianna.

Exposed

Richelieu and his chief spy, Rochefort, visit the Sheriff as a surprise, having become suspicious of his behaviors. The Sheriff only confirms their worries, attacking them crudely with a broadsword. Rochefort, a calm fencer, brandishes his rapier in response. The two clash, but Rochefort's nimbler blade soon takes the edge. The spy even manages to chop half of the Sheriff's hair off. Yet the Sheriff retreats, promising to cut Rochefort's heart out with a spoon as he goes. He then pledges his allegiance to Bavmorda, Evil Genius's chief ally.
