Shao Kahn

Shao Kahn is the primary antagonist of the Mortal Kombat video game franchise. A powerful dictator who has destroyed thousands of worlds, Kahn is a secondary player in several villains tournaments.

Shao Kahn has his main servant, Shang Tsung, summon Quan Chi to the CGI realm, in order to fill out the ranks of his army. The faction is soon approached by Tai Lung, who suggests that Kahn and his allies join forces with Lord Shen.

Origins

Shao Kahn was the son of a demon living in the Outworld, some say he was descendant of one of the Ten Commandments, who were powerful warriors of the Demon Clan. He was a servant in the court of the original ruler of Outworld, Onaga the Dragon King. Eventually Shao Kahn attacked Onaga and threw him into the Infinite Void. He also banished the guardian of Outworld, Humsin. Shao Kahn's rule was challenged by many at first, especially a demon called Lokar, who claimed to be son of an Elder God. Shao Kahn instead banished him to the Fifth Dimension. Shao Kahn set himself out to be the ruler of all realms. He wanted to invade Heaven, and tricked sorceror Quan Chi to help him open the door to the realm. This was the most devastating attack on Heaven since the end of the Great Dimensional War, and Elder Gods ended up punishing all three men involved with the invasion, Shinnok, Quan Chi and Shao Kahn, with their own ways. Shao Kahn's punishment ended up being the death of his wife, Sindel. Furious Kahn blamed the two Netherrealm rulers for her death, and swore revenge.

Shao Kahn's next idea was to invade Earthrealm, and thus sent Shang Tsung, the evil sorceror, and Goro, the four armed monster, to prepare the invasion with a martial arts tournament known as Mortal Kombat. Shang Tsung would eventually be killed by Liu Kang, the Shaolin Monk. Shao Kahn still wants to invade Earthrealm one way or another.
