The Playing Cards are supporting characters in the Mickey Mouse cartoon short Thru the Mirror. Initially featured as playful objects, the Cards revealed their hostility to Mickey Mouse after dancing and flirting with the Queen of Hearts' card, threatening him and chasing him throughout the living room, before they would cease to exist, as the entire short was Mickey Mouse's dream sequence. The Cards are also featured in the finale of Heroes vs. Villains War, mainly serving the Queen of Hearts as her new elite guard against the hero forces.
