Miguel Rivera is the youngest of the Rivera Family and the main protagonist of the Disney/Pixar's film, Coco.
A Mexican boy hailing from the town of Santa Cecilia, Miguel strived to become a musician from a young age in a time where his family's old traditions forbid him from even playing music. Finding aspiration from his great-great-grandfather, learning his identity as a musician, Miguel sought the grave of Ernesto de la Cruz, the only lead he had regarding his connection, in the second Disney Heroes vs. Villains. However, his plan had caught the attention of bystanders who decided to use the boy for their own ends.

Vs Lock, Shock and Barrel[]
Miguel Rivera breaks in the de la Cruz's mausoleum at the Santa Cecilia's cemetary and steals the guitar of the late musician, Ernesto de la Cruz, thinking him as his great-great-grandfather. He is caught in the act by the tricksters Lock, Shock and Barrel, who introduce themselves as friends. As they tempt Miguel to play the guitar, Lock tosses a pumpkin bomb at the boy the moment he plays the guitar. Confused, Miguel watches in horror as he realises that he is a ghost. As he escapes from the mausoleum, he is chased by skeletons, sent by Lock, eventually cornering him. As Miguel falls into their trap, the three tricksters contain him in a large bag, ready to be carried away to Oogie's lair. Nonetheless, he is rescued by the scarer Sulley, who scares them out of their wits, forcing them to retreat. In the confusion, Sulley gets Miguel out of the bag and takes him to Halloween Town to recuperate.
