Maxie Zeus is a minor antagonist, yet a great threat, in the DC comics, as an enemy of Batman. Depending on the incarnation, Maxie Zeus appears either as a former history professor, a crime lord, or an eccentric businessman. Nevertheless, they also share the trait, that he has an obsession over Greek mythology. His mental illness caused him to believe that he is the reincarnation of Zeus, the king of the gods in the Greek pantheon, developing a god complex, in the process. He has fought with Batman, eventually ending up in Arkham Asylum, along with many other lunatics. Maxie Zeus also appears in the Non-Disney vs. DC Villains War, this time displaying as the real character, (addressed as Zeus) for the plotline of the tournament.
Non-Disney Vs DC Villains War[]
Zeus appears as the ruler of Olympus. Yet, his rule does not last for long, as his children are conspiring against him, on purpose to take advantage of Olympus for their own desings. One day, he is confronted by a middle-aged man, who revealed to be Thanatos in disguise. Thanatos was a subject, imprisoned by Zeus, prior to the events of the war. Angered, Zeus knocks aside Thanatos, before he would wear his high-tech suit armor, to deal with Thanatos' army. He manages to disintegrate a Minotaur, with electric blasts from his gloves. Eris then appears, but before she would even attack, Zeus retaliates, forcing her to teleport away, leaving him to deal with the rest of Thanatos' army. However, he is too late to discover Eris' plots, as she transforms into a soldier, and creeps from behind him, taking him by surprise, while also destroying his suit armor, with a strong fist. Zeus is helpless, as he is overwhelmed and destroyed by Thanatos' minions, leaving his throne and rule to his children.

After taking over the Underworld from the original Hades ruling it, Maxie Zeus, alongside Eris, is recruited by his so-called brother Hades to act as his helpers into keeping the Underworld as his rule.

The Acolyte[]
Maxie Zeus first appears when the Demon King involves him with an initiative he has been working on since the defeat of his brother Chernabog: restoring him to his original form to cause havoc and chaos all around the Earth. He's then tasked to lead a group of Neo Acolytes (composed of the dark sorcerer Daolon Wong, the demonic Pluto, the gambling King Dice and the dark sorceress known as Hecate) to help him act as his helpers in his new mission. Later, the loyal servant of the Demon King and also member of the Neo Acolytes, Medusa, has the spirit of the deceased Evil Lyn revived to serve as a member of the group and meets up with her offscreen.
