Marina del Ray is the primary antagonist of the Disney prequel, The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning. A shrewish adviser to King Triton, she has no real power to speak of, relying mostly on her minions to do the work for her. She plays a minor role in the second Disney vs Non Disney Villains War.

Stopping an Insurrection
Ursula, Queen of the Oceans, hires Marina del Ray as one of her underlings, securing her grip on the ocean. del Ray, however, proves a decidedly weak ally, usually irritating Ursula. The sea-witch decides to make Marina useful, however, once Joe the Fish foments insurrection in the fish population. Marina comes to take out Joe, only for his fish followers to distract her. Marina thinks fast, however, and taunts Joe's intellect. This incites Joe to drink more of his intelligence potion, side effects of which include turning him human. Marina continues this effort until Joe fully transforms himself and drowns.
Defeat at the Battle of Atlantica
Skeletor launches an assault on Atlantica, and Marina heads out to the front lines to put an end to the fighting. Aided by her trusted eels, Marina attacks Skeletor's top lieutenant, Evil Lyn, with a barrage of needles. Lyn blocks the needles and crushes Marina's eels with a boulder. Enraged, Marina makes a defiant charge towards Lyn, only for Lyn to knock her out cold with some magic. Ray is later shown taken into custody, but a convict of Atlantica's new ruler, Merman.
