Marcus Octavious is an immortal Roman, who dreamed the perfect Rome, after her fall by the barbarians and also the enemy of Colin MacLeod, who wanted revenge for killing his wife. After many years, Marcus had recruited many mortals, scientists and robots, ready to put his plan into acrtion, but in the end his plan was a failure and was killed by his enemy, Colin MacLeod. Despite being a ruthless and egomaniacal leader, with killing innocent people, he didn't show in the movie any emotions of anger towards to anyone who stands in his way, making him one of the first villains who don't show wrath on the protagonist or the secondary characters of the film. He is the main antagonist in the animated movie Highlanders: The Search Of Vengeance and a major player in the Heroes vs Villains Tournament.

Hired by Varrick to kill Seth, Marcus travels with Ogthar and some troops to Seth's lair. Marcus has his troops fire upon Seth, but he manages to have a giant Saurophaganax protects him. While Ogthar busies himself with the dinosaur, Marcus creeps behind Seth and blocks off the exit to the lair. When Ogthar kills the dinosaur, Seth turns to run, only to meet the point of Marcus's sword. Marcus impales his foe.
