The Manual of Witchcraft and Alchemy is a key plot element in the Disney live-action film Hocus Pocus. A spellbook given to Winnie Sanderson by the Devil, it contains recipes for powerful spells and curses. It can also resurrect some deceased souls once again. The book was inadvertently used by Max Dennison and Allison, who perform a ritual that revived the Sanderson Sisters from the dead. Since afterwards, the book was used by the Sisters for their own ends. The manual also appears in the second Disney Heroes vs. Villains as one of the tools sought by the Sisters, which is revealed to have been acquired by Oscar Diggs.
