It is also the only state in the U.S. with political subdivisions termed parishes, which are local governments equivalent to counties. The largest parish by population is East Baton Rouge Parish, and the largest by land area is Cameron Parish.
Louisiana also appears as the main location of the Disney films, The Rescuers and The Princess and the Frog. It is also featured in the villain tournaments as the homeland of Madam Medusa and Dr. Facilier.
