King Théoden is a "key" element character in the J. R. R. Tolkien fictional work, The Lord of the Rings, and it's resulted film adaptations. The ruler of the kingdom of Rohan, King Théoden was once controlled by his former advisor Grima Wormtongue, and through him the wizard Saruman, both of them using him to disassociate with the rest of Middle-Earth's men against the forces of Sauron. He eventually broke up from his control, with the help of Gandalf the White, joining forces with the wizard in the fight against Sauron's armies. The Ralph Bakshi's version of the character briefly appeared in the Epilogue shot of Heroes vs. Villains War, alongside with Aragorn and Gandalf, though it is unknown if he was supposed to be presented or if he was only there in the footage used.
