Kevin Flynn in his youth
Kevin Flynn is the protagonist of Walt Disney Productions' 1982 film, Tron and the tritagonist of its sequel, Tron: Legacy. He is a software engineer who works for the software corporation ENCOM, creating several video games on the company's mainframe after hours, aiming to start his own game company. In his latest misadventure, he was was broken down into data and transformed into a program by the Master Control Program as a means to test his skills in the Grid. Thankfully, he was aided by the heroic program Tron, eliminating the MCP for good, leaving him as the current CEO of ENCOM. Later on, an adult Kevin returned to the Grid, having grown distant from his own family, to transition the datascape into a private server that would govern, due to complexity of the rules of the digital world, alongside with his newly created Isomorphic Algorithms, including his bodyguard Quorra. Still, he was targetted by the renegade CLU 2.0, a program who had its own designs for the digital world. In an suprising twist, he was aided by his long-distand son, Sam Flynn, who joined forces with him to stop CLU's expansion in both the digital and real worlds. In a show of good faith, Kevin ultimately pulled CLU back into himself in a bid to finally destroy it. Reintegrating CLU, Kevin sacrificed himself in order to save his son and his allies, wishing them a new beginning in the new world they would live.
Kevin Flynn also appears in the second Disney Heroes vs. Villains in a role similar to his original portrayal, fighting the forces of CLU and the MCP simultaneously alongside with new allies.
