Iroh, commonly referred as Uncle Iroh, is a major protagonist in the Nickelodeon television series Avatar: The Lost Airbender. Arguably one of the best and comedic characters in the series, Iroh is a retired Fire Nation general, a former crown prince of the Fire Nation, a Grand Lotus of the Order of the White Lotus, and a master firebender. He also acts as a mentor and father figure to his exiled nephew Zuko, taking him in his tutelage, following the loss of his son. Initially sent capture the "Avatar" to restore Zuko's honor and birthright along with the prince, Iroh guided Zuko on the path of serenity and absolution through life lessons, including tea-drinking sessions, in the hopes to make Zuko realise his full potential, end his perpetual suffering and torment from the past incidents that left him scarred, find balance in his actions (phisically and emotionally) from within, ultimately accepting him as a surrogate charge. Throughout the series, Iroh acts a paragon for the young heroes, learning from him while on their journey to stop the Fire Nation from expanding its influence. He also appears in the second Heroes vs. Villains in a role similar to the original series, accompanying Zuko on his journey to restore his honor.

Heroes Vs Villains War-Part Two

Calming Zuko

Zuko was heading closer to where Aang and his friends were. Though his uncle, Iroh, insisted on warming him up in a tea-drinking session, Zuko wanted nothing more than to capture Aang to restore his honor. Despite his exaggerated behavior, he was unaware that the seagull Scuttle overheard his goal, who flew to seek assistance.
