Ian Mercer is a major antagonist in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. A cold, calculating agent of Lord Cutler Beckett, Mercer is a ruthless commander and assassin. He is a minor player in the second Disney Vs Non Disney Villains War.
Disney Vs Non Disney Villains - Part Two[]
Beckett sends Mercer with Maxim Horvath to take down the forces of the evil Queen Bavmorda. Mercer leads the frontal assault with his British troopers. The troopers do a good job annihilating Xayide's crustacean henchmen, but Mercer and his men face a greater threat in Evil Genius, who defeats them soundly. It is implied, however, that Mercer survives the conflict.

Vs Rumpelstillskin[]
Ian Mercer visited the beggar Rumpelstiltskin, wanting to take his son away to be a soldier in the war. Desperate, Rumpel visited Tia Dalma and begged for her help in defeating Mercer. She agreed and granted him unimaginable power but at the cost of turning him into the Dark One. The next day, as Mercer was preparing his ship for departure, Rumpel arrived to take his son back. Mercer shot him in the chest but Rumpel revealed it would take more than that to kill him. Rumpelstiltskin then used his new powers to conjure up tentacles which tore Mercer's brain apart, killing him. Baelfire then looked in horror at what his father had become.
Disney Vs Marvel Villains War - Part Three[]
If the war wouldn't have been cancelled,he would have made the East India Trading Company which would have most likely included Ian Mercer to face the Brotherhood of Mutants and would have lost the fight.
