Great Great Grandmother Irene is an ancient ancector of an unknown royal family currently passing through the generation of King Papa and his daughter Princess Irene. She is a benevolent spirit who helps Irene and the young miner Curdie in their attempts to stop the schemes of the malevolent Prince Froglip. During the events of Heroes vs. Villains War, Great Great Grandmother Irene joins the Wise Faction led by Merlin and Gandalf in an attempt to stop the forces of evil from taking over the universe, including the Black God Chernabog.
