The Black Manta is a major antagonist in the DC universe, first appearing in Aquaman #35. An enigmatic figure, equipped with a high-tech suit and heavy weaponry, the Black Manta is a lethal warrior, arguably considered as one of Aquaman's greatest enemies. He is a major player in the Non-Disney vs. DC Villains War.

Ambassador of the Atlanteans[]
The Black Manta appears as the ambassador of the Atlantean fleet, commanded by the Ocean Master. He travels to Egypt, ruled by Pharaoh Rameses, requesting his kingdom's surrender to his master. When Rameses refuces, he faces off the wrath of the Ocean Master, as he slaughters a large portion of the Pharaoh's Egyptian army.
On the next course, the Black Manta, while accosted by a platoon of Atlantean soldiers, meets up with the Fire Nation officer, Admiral Zhao, for a business meeting, regarding about turf management. When Zhao sets this meeting up, the Black Manta uses his weapons to knock out several Fire Nation soldiers. He then rallies the Atlantean soldiers, commanding them to fire at their enemies. The Atlanteans manage to break through their defenses, eventually sinking their warcraft ship, forcing Zhao to retreat.
