Esperanza is a secondary character in the animated movie Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. The loving mother of the wild stallion Spirit, Esperanza deeply cares for her son and she follows his lead when he takes charge of their herd. She does not, however, have much time with her son, as US Cavalrymen take Spirit captive for use as a mount, separating mother and son. She briefly appears in the events of Heroes vs. Villains War.
