Esdeath is the secondary antagonist of the anime series, Akame Ga Kill and plays a major role in all the Villains Wars.

After the death of her husband, Queen Esdeath visits her father Ice King, and asks for help from him to stop the murderer.

Swearing revenge on Mortimer Freeze

Esdeath sent her father to come and investigate with the other side of The Ice Nation where Nekron was presumably killed.On their way,Esdeath and Ice King were shocked to see Nekron's dead body near to a cult that worships The Devil. After The Ice King was killed by Mortimer,Esdeath left as she teleported away while telling Mortimer that he was impressive but will die next time that they will meet.

Having his castle restored, Nekron and his mother are visited by Esdeath who is shocked to see Nekron alive.Then she came back to normal and asks Nekron and his mother to join her cause to kill Mortimer Freeze which Nekron gladly agreed.

Duel with Mortimer Freeze

Nekron and his forces have finally started an attack on Mortimer Freeze who was about to steal The Ice Nation's piece of Codex for The Devil. Mortimer Freeze turns into a fridge that began to shoot out small ice cubes at his enemies. Esdeath then instantly broke the cubes with a hit from her legs.After having his cubes broken, Mortimer transforms into Jupiter and slams his hands down to cause a snow shockwave as a distraction for his enemies. As a way to not have her partner killed again,Esdeath used her powers in order to freeze the floor thus making Jupiter to hold his stomach, becomes bloated, and forms something inside that stretches him into a snowflake. When Mortimer was about fight Nekron and Esdeath,The Devil arrived to take his Codex and destroy Nekron for his act of treason of attacking his colleague but not before melting Mortimer Freeze personally.Nekron tries to attack The Devil only for the demon to rage enough and melt Nekron's whole kingdom while killing everyone that was there which included Esdeath who (unliker her former allies) ended up on Tartarus.

Betraying her father

Jafar starts a meeting with Ice Nation's Princess, Esdeath, about killing her father, the Ice King, and making peace with Agrabah. Esdeath agrees as she had enough of her father. While Jafar was defeating from Ice King monsters, Esdeath arrived and transforms the monsters into snow. Then, Jafar revealed to everyone a lamp stolen from Hex and free the Genie. He asked the genie his first wish.... becoming the most powerful Sorcerer. This leaves everyone shocked as Jafar shoots a blast at Ice King,but the wizard managed to dodge his attack. Having enough of this stupid fight, Esdeath hits her father with a final blow, killing him in the process. When Jafar and Esdeath arrived at Agrabah to declare peace, Queen La got jealous of the bonding between Jafar and Esdeath and plans to get her revenge on the new queen.

The New Ruler of the Ice Nation

After she recently became queen, Queen Esdeath decided to recruit the greatest waterbender across the land, Unalaq, by making him her trusted advisor.

Overthrown by Queen La and Unalaq

Queen La arrives on the Ice Nation to discuss with Esdeath. Esdeath thought that Jafar sent Queen La to give her message. However, Queen La reveals to Esdeath that she will conquer the Ice Nation from the orders of Jafar. She was shocked to see that Queen La and Agrabah betrayed her, so she attempts to kill Queen La for treason. Esdeath attempts to freeze Queen La until La used her staff to teleport away from the ice. La then mocks Esdeath as she tells her that she will enjoy to torture her,leaving Esdeath to cover Queen La with water. As Esdeath was having the upper hand to kill Queen La, Unalaq arrives and froze Esdeath, letting La to take the former queen of The Ice Nation into her staff.

Mocked by Queen La and Jafar

After defeating Esdeath, Queen La freed the former queen from her staff and decided to mock her newest prisoner. As Esdeath reamained stoic, La decided to steal her powers and let her starve before she kills her.However,their conversation was seen by a certain sea witch.The next day,Queen La reveals to Jafar that their plan succeeded, and they took control over The Ice Nation. Esdeath is shocked by Jafar's words which decided that the former queen will be killed here on Agrabah and reveals the next part of the plan.

Saved by Ursula

From Jafar's orders, Razoul tied up Esdeath and was about to cut her head, until Ursula arrived and saved Esdeath from the Royal Palace Guard. As a reward for saving her, Esdeath joins Ursula and her allies to stop Unalaq.A month or two later,Morgana pays a visit to Esdeath and told her to do something for the faction or else she will kill her.Esdeath assured Morgana her loyalty as she reveals to the sea witch her plan to rid of Unalaq.First of all,Esdeath managed to convince Manta to join Ursula to stop Unalaq together,since he is a threat for Manta's son.
