Duke (G.I. Joe)

Duke (file name: First Sergeant Conrad S. Hauser) is one of the main protagonists of the G.I. Joe franchise, though his form from G.I. Goe: A Real American Hero and G.I. Joe: Renegades are the most popular incarnations seen in the villain wars. A skilled officer of the Special Forces of the U.S. Army, Duke is a humble and selfless soldier, ready to put his life at stake for the sake of his compatriots when confronted with overwhelming odds. Formely the second-in-command of the G.I. Joe team, a covert special unit under the command of the United States, serving under Hawk, Duke became the field commander and de facto leader of the team, tasking assignments to his non-commissioned allies to investigate and thwart the machinations of the terrorist organization COBRA, operated by Cobra Commander, the team's archnemesis.

In the Renegades series, he is portrayed as a young agressive and stubborn man, though his loyalty, trust, and compassion to his fellow members is never in question. The incarnation of the character from the television series is portrayed in the second Heroes vs. Villains as one of the main heroes who became involved in the conflict against the rising criminal empires.
