Dinotopia is the basis of the James Gurney's eponymous books, Dinotopia, and its resulted fictional works and film adaptations. A fictional utopia and isolated island inhabited by shipwrecked humans and intelligent dinosaurs who have learned to coexist peacefully as a single symbiotic society, Dinotopia's concept had gained popularity amongst fans and children; as such it expanded the the franchise with two live-action television series, an animated film adaptation, and several video games based on the said concept. It is arguably considered one of the best children's literature fiction works.
