D'Artagnan is the protagonist of the Alexander Dumas' The Three Musketeers and the resulted Disney film adaptation. Based on the real-life musketeer of the same name, D'Artagnan is an ambitious man and heroic patriot of his country, always putting his life on the lives of others and the honor of his country. He enlists in the Musketeer division of France to defend his country from sinister forces, including King Louis' chief minister Cardinal Richelieu, and the Cardinal's minions and spies. His courage and valor has earned the respect of his companions, including the Musketeers Athos, Porthos, Aramis, whom they became his closest allies and friends. D'Artagnan also appears as amongst the heroes who fight off the forces of evil during the events of the second Disney Heroes vs. Villains.
