Curdie is the male protagonist of The Princess and the Goblin. A young miner, working in an underground cavern below the castle of King Papa, Curdie was the first person to examine the terrible schemes of Prince Froglip and his goblin warriors and alert the castle's denizens about the danger they possessed in their kingdom. He eventually outwitted Froglip and his minions and saved Princess Irene from the clutches of the evil goblin prince, saving the lives of King Papa and Irene respectively. Curdie's brave courage is needed for the heroes when more powerful villains threaten their homeland in the events of Heroes vs. Villains.
