Queen Bavmorda hires Rugen to conquer the live-action version of Wonderland for her alliance. Rugen engages in diplomatic discussion with the Red Queen, as he wishes to acquire the kingdom non-violently. But the Red Queen rebuffs his attempts. She then orders Stayne, the Knave of Hearts, to do away with Rugen. Though Rugen parries away a few of Stayne's blows, Knave proves the superior fencer. He stabs Rugen in the heart, killing the count.

Non Disney Villains Tournament[]

Count Rugen meets with Jim Moriarty, only for Dracula to interrupt the proceedings. Rugen is suspicious, so he thrusts a cross into Dracula's hands. As the Count expected, Dracula begins screaming in agony. Rugen runs away, but Dracula tracks him down. Rugen hurls a concealed knife into Dracula, wounding the vampire. But Rugen makes the mistake of impaling Dracula with a steel sword, a tactic that has no effect on a vampire. Rugen can only watch in horror as Dracula slides up the blade and drains Rugen's blood.
