Cortex Lab is the large facility, operated by Dr. Neo Cortex, and one of the primary locations of the Crash Bandicoot video game franchise. Located in a isolated island, dubbed as Cortex Island, outside of the N. Sanity and Wumpa Islands, the Lab is featured as the lair and headquarters of the evil scientist, who plans to turn the eponymous protagonist, Crash Bandicoot, into one of his fearless generals, to lead his armies to world domination. The Lab also appears in the villain tournaments, as one of the main battle sceneries.
