Commander Lyle Rourke is a soldier of fortune who leads an international team of mercenaries at the command of more powerful villains in the Disney vs. Non-Disney Villains war and the Disney Villains War. He is the main villain of the Disney animated film Atlantis: The Lost Empire.

Frollo's Artillery[]
Governor Ratcliffe assembles a crew of villains to work for Frollo. Rourke is one of his later hires, being found through the medium of Kent Mansley. Nonetheless, he is accepted into the French villain's ranks. Mansley then has Rourke and Captain Hook take on the dangerous wizard, Blackwolf. Rourke and his men lay waste to Blackwolf's armies, while Hook assassinates the wizard personally.
The Battle of Paris[]
When Ruber attacks Frollo's Parisian stronghold, Rourke attempts to rebuff the assault. In the middle of the battle, Ruber's ally and the new King of England, El Supremo, arrives in his ship. Rourke rallies his men to take out this lethal ship, but El Supremo shoots him with a laser. The effects bizarrely transform Rourke into crystal. He then perishes in the propeller blades of his own zeppelin. Rourke is then avenged by his lieutenant, Helga, who destroys El Supremo's ship.

Allies with Power[]
Rourke and Helga ally with the criminal mastermind, David Xanatos, in the Disney Villains War. When Emperor Zurg exercises the use of a giant space laser, Xanatos warns Rourke and provides him with some weapon upgrades. Both anticipate a war with the enemies from space.
Bout with a Vampire[]
Rourke and Helga begin moving precious cargo to various cities, hoping to arm them before Zurg's troops arrive. His timing could not be worse, as he is ambushed by a squadron of Hornets, Zurg's attack robots. They are led by NOS-4-A2, an energy vampire. When NOS-4-A2 attacks, Rourke finds himself disarmed. He hurls Helga at the vampire in order to keep him at bay, but the monster throws her off of Rourke's zeppelin. Helga, however, gets the last laugh. Barely alive after her fall, she uses a weaponized flare gun to blast NOS-4-A2 into the cosmos.
The Battle of New York[]
Zurg sends the full force of his army upon New York later in the war. Rourke is among those mobilizing a defense. During the battle, Rourke uses his minigun to destroy Shego's space laser. Zurg himself later disarms Rourke. Shego then attacks Rourke in revenge, striking him multiple times before activating her specialized powers. Rourke is summarily turned into crystal and killed.
Disney Vs Marvel Villains War[]
Hired by David Xanatos to acquire the gemstone of Jafar, Rourke manages to encase the gem in a steel vault. However, just as Rourke is about to make his escape, the Red Skull arrives with a platoon of Nazis. Rourke sets his troops against Red Skull's Nazi troopers, while he himself tries to make a getaway in his balloon. Red Skull, however, manages to shoot the balloon down. Enraged, Rourke grabs an axe and a minigun, trying to shoot the Red Skull out of the air. He manages to gun down the Red Skull's plane, but the Red Skull uses an emergency teleport and shoots Rourke in the arm. Rourke tries to behead his foe, but he accidentally smashes the glass on the vault; exposed to the power of the gemstone, Rourke turns into crystal.

Rourke and Hook arrive at Scrapperton's place goin according to Frollo's plan to eliminate the robot and recover everything he collected of Paris, but Scrapperton arrives and calls his robot army to eliminate the intruders, Rourke and his team destroyed the robots with ease, but the Captain decides to destroy this enemy himself.
Battle with Devimon's Forces[]
Frollo launches a full scale siege on Devimon's Fortress desiring the death of all the digital monsters. But at the same time Mercurymon has prepared himself for this moment and with the powers of Chernabog starts calling all kinds of demons as he brings an un death army to defeat his opponents, but as both forces clash new forces arrive to take down Mercurymon for his actions.

Battle of Native Lands[]
The English Governor Ratcliffe, along with the mercenary Commander Rourke and Clayton (who had been secretly working for both Ratcliffe and McLeach in hopes of doubling his profits) sailed for the Native Lands, a region of untouched wilderness inhabited only by native tribes and animals, tasked with conquering the area for Maleficent. As the Inuit tribesman-turned-bear Kenai, his young charge Koda, and the two moose Rutt and Tuke looked on, the Powhatan tribe led by Chief Powhatan and his daughter Pocahontas rowed out in canoes to meet the visitors. Suddenly, a flare lit up the sky as Ratcliffe and his army of colonists landed on shore, ready for battle. The Powhatan warrior Kocoum charged Ratcliffe, but Rourke shot him dead with his pistol. Behind them, Ratcliffe gave the order to open fire, with Rourke's mercenaries using machine guns, rifles, and explosives against Powhatan tribesmen armed with bows. The Powhatan took heavy casualties and were forced back as Rourke set off a series of bombs that brought down much of the surrounding forest.
Vs Pocahontas[]
After taking over the Native Land, Ratcliffe sent Rourke to smoke out any natives who were still resisting his army. Rourke found Pocahontas, who was seeking the wisdom of the tree spirit Grandmother Willow, and chased her deeper into the forest. Rourke's second-in-command Helga Sinclair fired on Pocahontas with a flare gun, starting a forest fire. Escaping into a canoe, Pocahontas rowed across a river to escape the flames and sought shelter in a tree, but Rourke's forces continued their pursuit. As Rourke and his caravan closed in on Pocahontas, the benevolent settler John Smith fired on a cliffside by the mercenaries, setting off a rockslide that buried the caravan. As Pocahontas thanked John Smith for saving her, Rourke snuck away, having survived.
Vs Tarzan and King Louie[]
Having heard of McLeach and Ratcliffe's incursions into the jungle, Tarzan travelled to the temple ruins inhabited by King Louie, an eccentric orangutan who had had dealings with humans in the past, to find out what he knew. However, no sooner had Tarzan arrived than he was confronted by Rourke, who had been ordered by Ratcliffe to kill the ape-man. As Louie's monkeys attacked Rourke's mercenaries, Tarzan confronted Rourke. Tarzan got the upper-hand at first, disarming Rourke and beating him with his own gun, but Rourke recovered and started beating Tarzan in turn. Jane tried to run in and help but Helga kicked her to the ground. Before Helga could finish her off, the monkeys ran in with a battering ram and knocked Helga away. Terk and Tantor arrived to assist, having been alerted by the commotion. Seeing that the tables may turn, Rourke decided to retreat, covering his escape by setting off explosives his men had laid around the temple. As the temple collapsed, Tarzan and his friends escaped as Louie tried to hold up the temple roof. Though Louie and his monkeys managed to escape harm, Louie failed to save his temple.
Vs Buzz Lightyear[]
Finding Rourke and his men setting up a zeppelin to flush out the heroes, Lightyear's team determined to arrest the mercenary for the earlier attack. As the zeppelin took to the air, Buzz and his Ranger team flew in to attack, but were met by a hail of gunfire from Rourke and his troops. Thanks to their advanced weaponry, the Rangers managed to take down most of Rourke's mercenaries, but Rourke himself was a trickier target. Buzz managed to destroy Rourke's machine gun, but Helga came to Rourke's aid, knocking a bomb into Lightyear and sending him hurtling to the ground. However, as Helga remarked that Buzz had been taken out "unless someone wanted to check", Rourke suddenly betrayed her and threw her out of the zeppelin, intending to take her half of the paycheck for himself after the war was over. Buzz managed to survive, clinging on to the hull of the zeppelin and climbing back up, but Rourke overpowered him in hand-to-hand combat and prepared to kill him with a fireaxe. Just then, Helga took her revenge by firing a flare pistol at Rourke before dying from her wounds. Though the shot missed Rourke, it distracted him long enough for Buzz to recover and get the upper hand again. At Buzz's mercy, Rourke surrendered and allowed himself to be taken into custody.
Battle of Planet Z[]
With Rourke's guidance, Lightyear's squad and the Atlantean mercenaries landed on Planet Z and made ready to launch an attack on Zurg's base. However, Lightyear's instincts proved to be correct; it was a trap. Rourke turned and punched Lightyear as Zurg's army emerged from ambush and prepared to kill the heroes, teleporting Rourke back to Earth.

While Lex was preparing for his meeting,he was attacked by the mercenary named Rourke as he threatened to kill the billionaire unless he gives him all his money.Lex denied Rourke offer as he sent his drones to get rid of the mercenary.Rourke and Helga were killing a lot of Luthor drones until Helga was thrown from the building by Rourke due to wanting the reward for himself.Lex Luthor then jumped into his huge ship and shooted Rourke to death,leaving Luthor to look if Rourke is really dead.

After he came back from the dead,Rourke visits McLeach and wants to join forces with the hunter to help him with his secret goals.Mc.Leach accepts but only if he can help him to kill a certain hunter that is a rival of his.In exchange,Rourke offers Helga as an official ally (whom he managed to recruit after he came back from the dead) for The Hunters and leaves to inform his master that revived him about this.
Hired to rid of Varrick[]
Varrick was about give an interview for the Russian people about his partnership with Amon until Rourke arrived to kill the leader. Everyone either began to run or fainted while Varrick tried to fight.However, Rourke managed to beat Varrick till he dies. During Varrick's last minute of being alive, Varrick is shocked to see and discover that Amon and Cobra Commander were the one that hired Rourke to kill him.
