
Clarisse Marie Grimaldi Renaldi is the dowager princess of the fictional country of Genovia and a supporting protagonist in the Meg Cabot's novel, The Princess Diaries, and its Disney film adaptations. Portrayed by Julie Andrews, Clarisse is the grandmother of Mia Thermopolis, therefore leaving Mia as the heir of Genovia's royalty. In order to make arrangements for Mia's crowning, Clarisse tutored her granddaughter in the teachings of a noble princes in accordance with the country's customs and formalities. She eventually succeeded in turning Mia into a respectful figure among her subjects.
Regarding the villain wars, Clarisse appears in the second Disney Heroes vs. Villains in a role similar to the original films, only this time interacting with more heroes.
