Carietta "Carrie" Nadine White is the titular main protagonist of Stephen King's first novel Carrie, and its film adaptations of the same name.
She is the tortured soul turned murderous villain whom the third party can root for with guilty pleasure. The true villains who are strictly the antagonists throughout the entire plot are her worst enemy Chris Hargensen, the school bully, and Carrie's mentally ill mother Margaret White, an abusive religious fanatic.

It’s Prom Night for Bates High School in Chamberlain, Maine, and the Prom Queen and King are about to be announced, but unbeknownst to everyone but Chris Hargensen, Billy Nolan, Norma Watson, Kenny Garson, Freddy Ross, and the Sanderson Sisters, whom they’ve made a deal with, they’ve rigged it so Carrie White wins and gets humiliated. Sure enough, despite Sue Snell’s best efforts after she sees the wire, Carrie and Tommy are crowned, and they get a bucket of pig’s blood dumped on them. The Sisters then take the stage, but after years of being humiliated in front of everyone, Carrie finally snaps and burns the prom down, killing everyone inside.
