Carolinus, also known as the "Green Wizard", is a benevolent wizard with great ultimate power as well as the tertiary protagonist of the Rankin/Bass animated movie, The Flight of Dragons, a film loosely based on the Gordon R. Dickson's novel, The Dragon and the George. The mentor of several champions like Gorbash, Peter Dickison, Smrgol, and Sir Orin Neville Smythe, Carolinus once had sensed the decay of magic into the world, thus he resolved to create the Last Realm of Magic able to keep the remains of magic intact alongside with his fellow wizards. Though he had once clashed with the sinister "Red Wizard" Ommadon, Carolinus would sense more powerful foes in Heroes vs. Villains War, thus he joins the Wise Faction in order to prevent the forces of evil from prevailing against the forces of good.
