Cardinal Richelieu is the primary villain of Alexandre Dumas's The Three Musketeers and the 1993 Disney adaptation of the film. Portrayed by Tim Curry, the Cardinal is a devious schemer desirous for power. He is a secondary player in the live-action storyline of the second Disney Vs Non Disney Villains War.

Forming an Alliance
The cardinal, along with the Sheriff of Nottingham, hold an audience with Lord Cutler Beckett; Beckett proposes the three ally in order to hold a commanding stake in the war. Richelieu is pleased with the arrangement.
A Traitor in His Midst
The Sheriff of Nottingham, however, has a relatively thin skin as compared to Richelieu and Beckett. Evil Genius becomes an undue influence on the Sheriff's behavior, something that does not escape Richelieu's eye. He and his chief spy, Rochefort, approach the Sheriff for exhibiting suspicious behaviors, but the Sheriff and his assistant, Mortianna, attack them. Mortianna tries to skewer the cardinal, but he simply shoots her. At the same time, Rochefort out-fences the Sheriff; nonetheless, the Sheriff escapes. When Horvath approaches Beckett with an offer to take down Bavmorda, the Sheriff's new employer, Richelieu tasks Rochefort with killing the traitorous rat. This time, the Captain of the Guard succeeds.
