Brer Bear is the secondary villain of the animated sequences of the Disney film, Song of the South. The main enforcer and partner-in-crime of fellow predator Brer Fox, Brer Bear is a minor player in the villains tournaments.

Against a bunch of ghosts[]
As the party continued at the Forbidden Mountains and more party goers came to enjoy the place, the army of ghosts arrived and proceeded to attempt to evict the occupants through a musical number. Pete's and Winkie's weasels attacked the ghosts but the ghosts lured them out a window and into the castle moat. Gideon and Foulfellow tried to smash them with a mallet but it had no effect as the ghosts dragged them away. Mr Smee got into a boat and rowed away, terrified by the whole scene. Brer Bear then ran off, chased by bees. After some scares, Pete ran screaming out of the castle.

Vs Pooh and his friends[]
At his English castle, Prince John was eager to replace the escaped prisoners with new ones, not wanting to appear incompetent before Maleficent. Meeting with the rogue Brer Fox, John was promised that the fox and his partner Brer Bear would find new prisoners in the peaceful 100 Acre Wood, which had thus far managed to remain untouched by the war. Arriving in the woods, the troublesome duo chased after Winnie the Pooh and his friends, hoping to capture them and claim John's reward. Managing to corner the group, Brer Fox prepared to apprehend them when Pooh came up to the two villains and offered them honey. Brer Bear was tempted by the offer, to Brer Fox's confusion, sparking an argument between them. While the two were distracted, Tigger threw Piglet into a nearby tree, knocking a beehive onto Brer Fox's head. Brer Fox pulled the beehive off and threw it at Brer Bear, but the bees attacked him as well. The two ran off with the bees in pursuit while Pooh and his friends watched.

Ratigan survives his fall and meets up with the hooded stranger which turns out to be Pete. Pete shows Ratigan his alliance, consisting of Dr. Drakken and Shego, Negaduck and the Gang of Megavolt, Bushroot, The Liquidator and Quackerjack, his henchmen of Weasels and The Beagle Boys and Brer Fox and Brer Bear.
Vs Rumour Honeybottoms[]
Brer Fox and Brer Bear try to invade Prince John's Castle which Pete wants to take over but soon find it invested by bees as Brer Bear knocks out one of them with his bat but Rumour Honeybottoms orders her troops to attack Brer Fox as uses her staff to put a beehive in his head who throws it at Brer Bear as they chase the predators away.
Arrested[]
A Weasel spy of Pete’s sneaks into New Wonderland (the name of the combined empire consisting of England, Wonderland and Bon Bon’s Candy Kingdom) and sees what fate has befallen Prince John, along with the members of Pete’s Alliance who failed to ambush Baroness Von Bon Bon and Rumor Honeybottoms. He also gets a good look at the many guards that will be guarding the area from attack.
