The Black Pearl is an infamous pirate ship operated by pirates Captain Barbossa and Captain Jack Sparrow. Originally a merchant vessel named Wicked Wench owned by a man named Morgan, the ship was sunk by Cutler Beckett's forces after Jack Sparrow's attempt to free a cargo of slaves. Nevertheless, the ship was raised from the sea due to Jack Sparrow's deal with Davy Jones, sailing the Seven Seas once again, now repurposed as a pirate ship. However, Barbossa led a mutiny against Sparrow, seizing the ship for his own. Since afterwards, he took control of the Black Pearl for the quest to find the cursed treasure of Cortés. The Black Pearl also appears in the villain wars whenever Barbossa is involved in any kind of conflict.
