The Hyena Henchmen

Banzai, Shenzi, and Ed are the primary hyena henchmen of Scar in Disney's The Lion King. The hyenas are known for their insatiable hunger, often leading to fighting amongst each other. They are minor players in several villains tournaments.

succession. Ed is sent careening off a cliff; Banzai is thrown into briars; Shenzi is slashed across the face. The three survive their respective fates, abandoning Scar to death; Mumm-Ra later hypnotizes them into becoming his servants.

Hired by Scar

Scar found his scattered hyena forces and rallied them once more to the benefit of his dragon overlord, the Dark Dragon by singing to them about the glorious future that would await them, introducing them to the Dark Dragon, Chang and Mirage. Sharing his goal of conquest, the hyenas agreed to join Scar once again.

Disney Villains War Reboot

First Meal

Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed appear in the reboot series in a role different than the original script. Upon Scar's orders, the trio move into Tublat's former territory in the African jungles for a new base of operation. When Clayton trespass a territory in the Pride Lands, Scar has his hyenas to kill him on sight. Though the hunter proves too much of a challenge, Scar manages to best Clayton and trap him in vines. When Clayton inadvertetly hangs himself, Scar has hyenas to eat his body. However, McLeach, who was on the search for Clayton's whereabouts, happens the hyenas mauling and devouring his body. The hyenas are forced to retreat after being threatened by McLeach's shotgun.

Vs Mowgli and his friends

After secretly murdering his brother Mufasa, the lion Scar ascended to the throne as king of the African savannah. Scar was supported by his hyena lackeys Banzai, Shenzi, and Ed and the conniving tiger Shere Khan, but the Indian man-cub Mowgli didn't trust the predator. Seeing Mowgli as a potential threat to his rule, Scar ordered his hyenas to dispose of Mowgli and his caretakers, the bear Baloo and the panther Bagheera. When the hyenas tracked the three down and went to kill them, Bagheera slashed Shenzi across the face, angering her. Baloo tried to usher Mowgli to safety, but Scar cut off their escape. Baloo tried to fight Scar himself but Scar knocked him to the ground. Scar then leapt at Mowgli, but Mowgli knocked him to the ground with a stick. Taking advantage of Scar's weakness, Mowgli, Baloo, and Bagheera escaped into the jungle, leaving Scar and Shere Khan to look on in annoyance.

Vs Kuzco and Pacha

Hearing from Kaa that a llama and a human had been seen wandering through the Pride Lands, Scar sent Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed to dispose of them. The hyenas found the llama Kuzco (actually the former emperor of the Incas, having been transformed and deposed by Yzma) on his own and gave chase. They soon cornered him at the edge of a cliff, but Kuzco's human friend Pacha swung in on a vine to rescue him. However, the hyenas simply dodged to the side and let Pacha pass harmlessly by. Coming back around, Pacha managed to grab Kuzco and swing to safety, but they ran into a log, unwittingly tying themselves around it. While the two were arguing, Shenzi moved in and broke the log, sending both plummeting into the ravine.

Battle with Forces of Nature

In the jungle, as Tarzan and Simba discussed their plan for an attack on Pride Rock, they spotted the smoke from the burning savannah. They immediately set out to investigate, but Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed separated Tarzan and his friends from Simba's group. The hyenas attacked from all sides, but Tarzan managed to keep them back. Switching targets, they attacked Tarzan's allies, but they managed to fend them off as well until Baloo and Tantor scattered them.

Scar tried to shift the blame onto the hyenas by claiming that the plan was their idea, not knowing that Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed had followed them and heard everything, withdrawing in anger.Though Scar survived the fall, he found the hyenas waiting for him, revealing to his horror that they had heard him selling them out. As Scar attempted to explain himself to them, the hyenas devoured Scar alive while the heroes looked on in shock.

Saw a fight

In the Elephant Graveyard a couple of Hyenas were talking to Each other but the Decepticon Steeljaw interferes their conversation wanting it as it's new base however the Lion known as Scar arrives to challenge him after being knocked out the Feline knocks him into a tree defeating him.

Knowing that maybe Shere Khan sent Scar Snout after the Rugrats, Scar recruits his forces (which include the hyenas, Zira and the lionesses) to get rid of the tiger.

Vs Sabretooth

The hyenas inform Scar that Sabretooth is out and about in the Savannah with his motorcycle and may be going to team up with the poachers, so the lion decides to ambush the motorcyclist, will Sabretooth manage to survive or will Scar play a left-handed shot?

Animated vs CGI Villains War

In Scar's faction

After Darkrai's assassination attempt, Scar recruits more animals including his saviours to defeat threats from another world.

Villains Battles

Pre-War:Befriend with Scar

After murdering innocent people, Scar is visited by three hyenas named Shenzi, Banzai and Ed. As the lion prepares to take them down, the hyenas reveal they just want to befriend him. Scar accepts them as his friends.

Teaming with Shere Khan's forces

After Lady Waltham's death, Scar and the hyenas decide to stay out from the war. However they are confronted by Kaa and the two Shere Khans, who they want to join forces with the lion in order to stop the hunters once and for all. Without further problems, Scar accepts.

Vs Clayton Forces

Now, the battle between Scar's alliance and McLeach's alliance has begun. While Scar is chased by McLeach, Zira and her forces decide to take out the rest of McLeach's allies.
