Athos is one of the main protagonists of the Alexander Dumas' novel The Three Musketeers and the 1993 Disney adaptation of the film. Based on the historical musketeer Armand d' Athos, Athos is a noble musketeer serving under King Louis and Queen Annie, defending the French crown from forces that threaten the kingdom. While righteous and noble as part of his duty as a musketeer, Athos appears as a taciturn and melancholic figure, drowning his secret sorrows in drink as a result of his break-up relationship with Milady de Winter. Alongside fellow compatriots Porthos, Aramis, and D'Artagnan, he joins the hero resistance during the events of the second Disney Heroes vs. Villains on purpose to defend his friends from the forces of evil.
